Halyk needed an app that would be easy for anyone to use, regardless of their trading experience. Introducing our brand-new simplified and UI-friendly app allows users to trade in just a few clicks. Halyk Finance provides access to online trading of equities and bonds of leading Kazakhstani and international companies from different economic sectors.

Challenges we've overcome

With world's best practices in mind, we developed a mobile app to ensure smooth operations.

Halyk Finance already had a multiplex platform for advanced investors, but newbie investors were unable to utilize it due to its complexity and poor usability.

Following the trend towards the simplicity of investment, Auxility was approached to develop a new solution that would drive the look and feel of the platform with an advanced backend towards a more personalized and user-friendly approach.

We assigned eight professionals to the project: six engineers, one designer, and an experienced QA, who ensured that the app was error-free. This was crucial for the company to initiate launch, procure, and satisfy customers early in its life cycle.

Halyk Invest app had to become a UI-friendly ecosystem convenient for both experienced traders and beginners.

The platform needed to be intuitive enough for first-time traders to understand how to navigate the market and make deals. Real-time news feed had to provide traders with valuable analytics.

Halyk Invest’s audience differs from its parent company Halyk Finance – these people are first-time investors, while the bank’s clients already have stable incomes and savings.

The primary goal is to gain profit exceeding classic deposits in the Kazakhstani market, which has recently experienced a downward trend in deposit rates for individuals.

Halyk Invest is a complex project developed to meet its users' needs. Therefore, the most crucial thing in developing projects like this is determining what matters most to users regarding functionality, technology, and the look and feel aspect.

Needless to say, our focus was not solely on the MVP’s functionality but on building an agile and scalable system that could be easily refined in the future.

The mechanics of registering and opening an account

To register for Halyk Invest, users must first register with Halyk Bank's internet banking system. This data is later pulled by the Halyk Invest app, which helps users avoid duplicate data entry due to legal requirements.

The process of registering and opening an account at Halyk Invest was a tricky one. To provide end-to-end registration, we decided to use an existing client database of its parent company, Halyk Finance.

A user registers in the banking system. Once the user's data is received, the app sends a request for creating a new in-app account on the backend.

The request is sent to the server, which transfers it to the central depository. Once it approves the request, the account activates.

The login in the application is arranged according to the best practices of the market - you can log in with name and password, or you can use Face ID and Touch ID.

OTP for security & convenience

To protect users from being hacked, we send them a text message with a OTP (one-time password). This is valid for one authentication session only and reduces the risk of the account being hacked.

OTP (a one-time password)

is a unique security feature that provides an extra layer of protection for online financial operations. Valid only for a single login session, it is an automatically generated numeric string of characters.
